Massage therapy can an effective treatment for scar tissue.
Whether scars are from injury or surgery, they can impede
our ability to move freely, limit blood circulation and lymphatic
flow, and sometimes damage our confidence. Massage is a valuable
therapeutic tool for increasing the mobility and flow of scars
and surrounding tissue, allowing us to move more naturally,
and helping us feel more comfortable in our bodies.

Approximately every five years, each active registered massage
therapist in Ontario goes through a peer assessment as part
of the provincial quality assurance program of the College
of Massage Therapists of Ontario. A designated peer assessor
visits the therapist at work and reports back to the Quality
Assurance Committee. Peer assessment helps assure both therapists
and the public that each therapist is operating according
to the standards established by our regulatory body. My peer
assessment was completed in June of 2008 and I expect to be
assessed again within five years.
